Tax Manager

Multinational second tier Company
Job purpose:
Coordination of projects related to individual tax and social security aspects arising for both resident and non-resident individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • 1. Part of the work will be focused on managing the Romanian tax compliance for our client’s international assignees coming to Romania, from planning their arrival to the preparation and submission of tax returns;

  • 2. Additionally, the individual will be involved in the acquisition and delivery of tax advisory projects related to the applicable personal income tax and social security contributions regime, as well immigration related projects;

  • 3. Organizes, guides, leads, controls and is responsible for efficiently conducting the global mobility services of the assigned client portfolio in accordance with the legal provisions in force and the policies of the company:

  • a) Expatriate taxation, including social security and immigration aspects from both local and EU regulations perspective;
  • b) Expatriation packages, equity compensation and tax assessments;
  • c) Assistance with establishing tax residency for individuals;
  • d) Coordination of expatriates' planning and Romanian tax compliance;
  • e) Immigration services (e.g. work authorizations, residence permits, etc.);
  • f) Personal income tax compliance;
  • g) Tax advisory on employment arrangements;

  • 4. Is responsible for the efficiency and quality of the works executed within the designated team at contractual deadlines with The company clients;

  • 5. Is responsible for the good professional training of the subordinate employees and proposes measures for improving their knowledge;

  • 6. Draws up an appreciation of the work carried out by the subordinate staff and proposes measures for promotion and professional stimulation;

  • 7. Proposes measures to develop the company services, as required by its representatives;

  • 8. Represent The company customers on their behalf in relation to the Tax Authorities and their auditors;

  • 9. Prepares offers and contracts with the company customers.

  • University degree in economics, business administration, Human Resources or related field is required;

  • At least 5 years of experience in a consultancy firm in the specific tax areas;

  • Member of the CCF ;

  • Experience with companies with 100+ FTEs;

  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment;

  • Coaching and mentoring experience at all levels of an organization;

  • Experience in multicultural environment;

  • Sense of humor is a plus;

  • PC knowledge – advanced (Microsoft Office- Word, Power Point, Outlook, other on-line applications);

  • Proven knowledge and practical application of Romanian practices and understanding of international aspects is a plus;

  • Fluent in English;

  • Advanced communication skills.
