Senior Lawyer

Retail Operator
Key Responsibilities:
  • closely working with the General Counsel so as to provide strategic, business-oriented legal guidance on a wide variety of issues, as well as addressing business legal issues and developing solutions and recommendations to meet the Business’ needs while addressing and mitigating legal risk;

  • proactively identify legal issues at the earliest opportunity and develop and implement strategies to address them;

  • use high level legal competencies to develop and implement innovative solutions to legal problems;

  • commission and manage the provision of external legal advice, ensuring that externally commissioned lawyers are provided with all necessary information to enable them to provide advice that is accurate, targeted and which represents the best value for money;

  • contribute to the ongoing development of the practice and procedures of the Legal team;

  • providing legal support for financing, commercial deals and product development;

  • review and negotiate a wide range of software and technology agreements, licensing and partnership agreements;

  • performing any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.

  • solid academic background; master/LL.M. in EU, tax or business law is a plus;

  • proficient in legal/business English;

  • 10 years of working experience in corporate and commercial law;

  • experience working with internal and/or external clients at all levels, including at Board and Executive level;

  • experience managing provision of additional legal services from external providers;

  • experience managing complex multi-jurisdictional deals;

  • membership of a EU bar association is a plus.

  • detail and results-oriented with a high degree of accuracy;

  • computer literate.
