Key responsibilities

    Demonstrates functional expertise in the areas of global mobility, personal taxation – both domestic and international, immigration, social security – both Romanian and international, executive compensation, equity incentives, HR strategy /policies.

    Stays abreast of general business and economic developments and demonstrates an understanding of the client’s business and industry, by recognizing business trends and emerging Human Capital practices and policies relevant to the client.

    Works with the client and engagement team to understand the clients business and Human Capital needs, provide practical implementable solutions and supports and takes ownership for the implementation of these recommendations.

    Works with the Human Capital team to develop marketing/sales strategies and implementing them and also to develop and customize relevant/practical methodologies in the Human Capital domain for the Romanian market. Networks with the industry leaders in the Human Capital to provide business leads for the practice.

    Utilizes and encourages the application of firm wide methodologies and tools including computer based software solutions.

    Prepares memoranda, working papers, and other documents in conjunction with serving the client (e.g., proposals, engagement letters, presentations, final reports).

    Provides guidance to assist staff in reaching their full potential (e.g., willingly addresses questions, contributes constructive on-the-job feedback and training, conducts meaningful and timely performance reviews) and assists them in designing and implementing individual development plans. Develops and coaches people as his/her primary leadership style.

    Ensures proper preparation, approval and sign-off of the contracts within the firm by the Partner/ Manager and with the client before beginning and engagement; escalates any quality issues to the practice, engagement Managers and Human Capital Leader proactively and ensuring these issues are addressed at the earliest.

    Client engagement teams, particularly Human Capital staff, managers and partners, as well as personnel providing services for other firm practice units (e.g., HR, assurance, etc.);

    Requirements:

      Master Degree in Business Management, Economics or Law.

      At least three years experience working as a consultant.

      Hands on experience in at least three of the following areas (but not limited to HR related areas):

      a. Immigration: consultancy and practical assistance in obtaining immigration documents for foreign nationals carrying out activities in Romania;

      b. Expatriate tax consultancy and compliance: consultancy in respect of the tax status/ tax treatment of income derived by foreign nationals in Romania, related social security issues, etc.;

      c. Personal taxation consultancy: regarding the tax status/ tax treatment of various types of income derived by Romanian nationals in Romania or from abroad;

      d. Compensation: salary, benefits, perquisites, bonuses and long term incentives (stock options plans, etc.); compensation surveys;

      e. Performance Management: design of performance appraisal system, of variable pay schemes, etc.;

      f. HR Strategy and Policies: HR function structure, processes, procedures for main areas such as recruitment, training and development, career planning, remuneration, etc.

      - Flair for presentations and documentation (including computer applications).
