Key Responsibilities:
  • Statutory and Management Reporting: Responsible for managing the RO Commercial Org B/S; Compliance with COMPANY’S Accounting Polices and Standards, Month-end process and applicable sub-processes (Accounts Payable, T&E, AR/SOTC, Fixed assets, R2R etc.), and other requirements for timely and accurate of submission of market B/S and Management Accounts data within the different COMPANY’S Group reporting systems; Accountable and responsible for the management of the monthly and annual closing processes for statutory and management reporting, supervising and supporting the 3rd party service providers; Continuously developing relationship and knowledge of 3rd party service providers (enhance communication, in case necessity provide relevant support/training and validate and communicate service performance); Support completion and filing of all local statutory accounts in accordance with local legal requirements; Providing information related to the market monthly operations actuals costs ad-hoc or during the monthly closing performance review, excluding PnL monthly commentaries; curious to understand the specifics of the business-driven data and therefore capable adequately to interpret and assure data accuracy

  • Tax: Responsible for managing relationship with third party provider regarding RO Commercial Org, providing all necessary local input for Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, Transfer Pricing (TP) Documentation and quarterly tax reporting process; Accountable for establishing local transfer prices for the RO Commercial Org and liaising with Group Tax to agree TPs; Ensure that local tax activities of the RO Commercial Org are fully in line with local legislation and Global tax policies. Proactively raise queries with Global Tax, informing on a regular basis on material financial risks, in particular relation to external tax audits; tax exposures are under control; ensure that local company is sufficiently and efficiently financed

  • Internal control environment: Manage the RO Commercial Org risk management from local statutory or tax perspective and Finance Controls Framework (FCF), ensuring market specific risks are identified and adequate controls are in place and operational in the local market; Responsible for RO Commercial Org bi-annual FCF reviews submission to CEE Area Financial Controller; Responsible for reviewing and updating local finance policies and procedures on a regular basis; Ensure a professional management of internal and external audits with a successful audits completion; Observing the COMPANY’s Code of Conduct & Core values, and all other local and global policies and procedures stated by Company’s in order to enhance COMPANY’S Corporate Reputation

  • Cash and Treasury: Managing and supporting GFO in ensuring RO Commercial Org timely payments to the suppliers and managing relationship with local banks. Provides professional stewardship of the company’s cash, in conformance with COMPANY’S’s Policies and Procedures; Monitoring that the local company is fully compliant with all internal and external policies and legislations (cash payments, T&E regulations, corporate cards etc.)

  • Information Systems (IS): Acting as COMPANY’S RO Commercial Org finance processes and data accuracy analyst, guaranteeing the systems and processes cover the local statutory accounting and tax legislative requirements

  • Local and Global projects: Support local roll out of COMPANY’S Finance Global Projects for RO Commercial Org in line with business needs; Join actively and support those projects assuring the local impact the accounting and tax are met

  • Ensure RO Commercial Org local and COMPANY’S Global EFPIA Transparency Disclosure Reporting accuracy from financial perspective (reporting TOV)

  • Assures appropriate local systems implementation of the Global Delegation of Authority

  • Intensively supporting and proactively supervising the Romanian market Working Capital, DSO and DPO performance along with exploring opportunities for further improvements and simplifications

  • Qualified finance professional operating at the middle level. (at least 5 years experience)

  • Where relevant: have local legislation compliant graduates and registrations

  • College or University degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business Management

  • Experience in Local Accounting standards and local Financial Management (this is a must)

  • Experience of working within a global organization

  • Preferable: solid experience of finance management and control roles

  • Desirable: experience of working in a global pharmaceutical organisation/ understanding of the drug development life cycle and/or commercial aspects

  • Rigorous and analytical thinking

  • Experience in designing business cases and usage of decision support tools and coaching others in developing and using those tools

  • Ability to apply governance, risk and compliance components

  • Solid commercial knowledge of the business area and local financial environment

  • Broad range of system knowledge (SAP, GSC, (desire Amicus))

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including oral and written, fluent English is a must, preferable: good language skills in one or more of cluster local languages

  • Working across boundaries with Centres of Excellence, remote teams and 3rd party vendors

  • Preferable 3 or more years experience as Senior accountant with chartered accountant degree

  • Experience in establishing and managing financial control processes

  • Desirable: audit background
