Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organizes, guides, leads, controls and is responsible for efficiently conducting the financial-accounting activity of the assigned client portfolio in accordance with the legal provisions in force and the policies of the company;

  • Assist in the correct setting of the primary documents underlying the financial and accounting records of the clients in the portfolio;

  • Verify the accounting documents and transactions registered by the subordinated personnel, organize and participate in the monthly, quarterly, annual closing;

  • Verify and analyze the Verification Balances and the monthly reports related to the designated projects;

  • Prepare, coordinate and check the half-yearly and annual financial statements as well as the monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual tax returns for portfolio projects;

  • Provide financial and accounting assistance in customizing and implementing the reporting packages according to the clients' request;

  • Responsible for the efficiency and quality of the works executed within the designated team at contractual deadlines with company's clients;

  • Represent the company customers on their behalf in relation to the Tax Authorities and their auditors;

  • Prepares offers and contracts with company customers;

  • Guides and instructs subordinate staff to develop, apply and update policies, procedures and strategies relevant to the service of portfolio clients in accordance with company's standards as well as legislative information and updating projects regarding changes in accounting legislation, Tax and/ or any other legislation whose implementation / modification entails an impact on the level of its activity;

  • Evaluates the financial and accounting operations within the designated projects and the internal company control system, proposes the improvement and implementation of new processes in order to develop it;

  • Responsible for the good professional training of the subordinate employees and proposes measures for improving their knowledge;

  • Draws up an appreciation of the work carried out by the subordinate staff and proposes measures

  • University degree in Finance / Payroll / Systems / Business administration, Human Resources or related field is required

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of related experience in a progressive accounting function

  • A leader with the ability to pro-actively coach and mentor team members on best practices and on performance while retaining a team of competent employees who will ensure both the Payroll & HR services are running smoothly

  • System implementation experience preferred

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in payroll calculations / processing and accounting principles

  • PC knowledge – advanced (Microsoft Office- Word, Power Point, Outlook, other on-line applications)

  • Fluent in English

  • Proven knowledge and practical application of Romanian practices and employment laws

  • Advanced Communication skills - ability to articulate complex topics and interact with all levels of management

  • Great trouble-shooting ability, with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to achieve goals and objectives

  • Strong time-management and project management skills

  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to find efficiencies, innovate and improve processes

  • Ability to be flexible in responding to changing deadlines and pressures

  • Stays current with trends and best practices in payroll technology, administration and management

  • Ability to identify problems and clients’ needs and drive appropriate solutions

  • Excellent analytical skills
